The Fight for REAL Transparency
On July 31st, 2009, in Chicago, Illinois, 12 concerned citizens in the 4th Congressional District of Illinois, represented by Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D IL-4), delivered some 350 petition signatures of his constituents urging the Congressman to cosponsor HR 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 [which bears the support of 281 cosponsors (a bipartisan majority) in the U.S. House of Representatives].
The bill would require a full and complete Audit of the Federal Reserve Banking System and reveal its agreements with foreign central banks and foreign governments.
According to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey (http://is.gd/1UjLY), 75% of the American people favor Auditing the Federal Reserve and publicly reporting the results of the audit.
It’s clearly time for Representative Gutierrez to unequivocally articulate his position on HR 1207 and transparency for an institution that has devalued the dollar by 95% since its inception in 1913.
